Product description
Trehalose is a non-reducing disaccharide widely found in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It has the role of protecting biomolecules such as nucleic acids and proteins in adverse environments such as dryness, drought, freezing, and high osmotic pressure, and is widely used in the preservation of pharmaceuticals, health products, enzymes, food, and other products. This kit provides a specific method for trehalose detection, which first uses trehalase to specifically hydrolyze trehalose into 2 molecules of glucose, then detects the glucose content using the GOPOD method, and finally obtains the trehalose content by correcting the background value of free glucose. Other disaccharides such as maltose and lactose do not interfere with this assay.
