Product description
Marine invertebrates primarily have four anaerobic metabolic pathways, among which the glucose-opine pathway plays an important role in the early stages of anaerobic metabolism. The unique Opine Dehydrogenases (OpDHs) in invertebrates ensure the smooth progress of this process. Tauropine Dehydrogenase (TDH; EC 1.5.1.23) is one of the Opine Dehydrogenases (OpDHs) series enzymes. TDH catalyzes the reaction between pyruvate and the specific substrate taurine to form the corresponding amino acid, while oxidizing NADH. By measuring the decrease in NADH at the characteristic absorption wavelength of 340nm, the activity of TDH can be determined.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
