Product description
Soil catalase mainly decomposes hydrogen peroxide in the soil, reducing the harm of excessively accumulated hydrogen peroxide to plant roots. This kit provides a simple, sensitive, and rapid detection method, where CAT catalyzes hydrogen peroxide to produce water and oxygen, and the remaining hydrogen peroxide reacts with a highly sensitive colorimetric probe to form a colored substance, which has the maximum absorption peak around 510nm. The activity of soil CAT enzyme is calculated by the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. A prominent feature of this kit is the shift from UV wavelength (240nm: the detection wavelength of hydrogen peroxide) to visible wavelength (510nm) detection, eliminating the need for quartz cuvettes or UV plates. Moreover, due to the extreme instability of hydrogen peroxide, direct detection causes unstable readings, and proteins and other components also have light absorption at this UV wavelength, affecting the accuracy of the results.
