ERBB3; HER3; LCCS2; ErbB-3; c-erbB3; erbB3-S; MDA-BF-1; c-erbB-3; p180-ErbB3; p45-sErbB3; p85-sErbB3;
Accession
Predicted N Terminal
Ser 20
Form
Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.5, 5 % trehalose and 5 % mannitol.
Bio-activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human ErbB3 at 2 μg/mL (100 μl/well) can bind human NRG1 (isoform Beta1), The EC50 of human NRG1 (isoform Beta1) is 0.43 μg/mL.
Molecular Mass
Recombinant Human ErbB3 protein consists of 635 amino acids after the removal of signal peptide and has a calculated molecular mass of 70.2 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, Recombinant ErbB3 migRates as an approximately 100-110 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Endotoxin
< 1.0 EU per 1 microgram of protein (determined by LAL method).
Purity
> 95 % by SDS-PAGE.
Storage
In lyophilized state for 1 year (4°C); After reconstitution under sterile conditions for 3 months (-70°C). Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute in sterile distilled water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.
Warning
For research use only!
Background
Cleaves beta-linked terminal galactosyl residues from gangliosides, glycoproteins, and glycosaminoglycans.
Isoform 2 has no beta-galactosidase catalytic activity, but plays functional roles in the formation of extracellular elastic fibers (elastogenesis) and in the development of connective tissue. Seems to be identical to the elastin-binding protein (EBP), a major component of the non-integrin cell surface receptor expressed on fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, chondroblasts, leukocytes, and certain cancer cell types. In elastin producing cells, associates with tropoelastin intracellularly and functions as a recycling molecular chaperone which facilitates the secretions of tropoelastin and its assembly into elastic fibers.
