Product description
Proline dehydrogenase (ProDH, PDH, EC 1.5.1.2) catalyzes the reaction of proline to form Δ1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate and is the rate-limiting step in proline degradation. Proline is one of the most widely distributed osmolytes, and many plants can accumulate large amounts of proline in their bodies by increasing synthesis and reducing degradation under stress conditions. Reducing the activity of PDH is of great significance for preventing osmotic stress from harming plants and protecting cell structures. Proline dehydrogenase (PDH) catalyzes the dehydrogenation of proline and the reduction of NAD+ to NADH. By detecting the increase rate of NADH at 340nm, the enzyme activity of ProDH can be determined.
