Product description
Traditional methods for determining plant root systems use triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) as a hydrogen acceptor for dehydrogenases, but the resulting colored substance, formazan, is insoluble in water, making the operation troublesome and the sensitivity low. This kit provides a simple, sensitive, and rapid method using a modified nitro-tetrazolium salt as a hydrogen acceptor. The resulting colored formazan substance is soluble in water, and the absorbance at 460nm is measured to determine dehydrogenase activity.
