Product description
Nitrate nitrogen is the primary nitrogen source for plants. The content of nitrate nitrogen in plants reflects the supply of soil nitrate nitrogen and can serve as an indicator of soil nitrogen fertilizer. Determining the nitrate nitrogen content in plants not only reflects the nitrogen nutrition status of plants but also has significant implications for assessing the quality of vegetables and processed products made from plants. Under strong acid conditions, NO3- reacts with salicylic acid to form nitrosalicylic acid, which turns yellow under strong alkaline conditions and has maximum light absorption at 410nm. By colorimetric determination, the nitrate nitrogen content in plants can be calculated.
