Product description
Sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH) catalyzes the dehydrogenation of sorbitol to fructose, which is one of the key enzymes regulating the content of sorbitol in organisms. Based on the coenzyme it depends on, it is divided into NAD+-dependent sorbitol dehydrogenase (NAD+-SDH, EC 1.1.1.14) and NADP+-dependent sorbitol dehydrogenase (NADP+-SDH). NAD+-SDH catalyzes the conversion of sorbitol to fructose, while NADP+-SDH catalyzes the conversion of sorbitol to glucose. NAD+-SDH catalyzes the dehydrogenation of sorbitol to produce fructose, simultaneously reducing NAD+ to NADH. The increase in absorbance at 340nm can be used to calculate the activity of NAD+-SDH.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
