Product description
Mitochondrial Complex IV, also known as cytochrome-c oxidase (EC 1.9.3.1) (commonly named CO, CcO, COX), is a member of the heme/copper terminal oxidase family. It is the terminal metal membrane protein enzyme on the electron transport chain of all prokaryotes and some eukaryotes, responsible for catalyzing the oxidation of reduced cytochrome C and ultimately transferring electrons to oxygen to form water. The decrease in light absorption at 550nm can reflect the enzyme activity of mitochondrial Complex IV.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
Microplate reader, 96-well plate, pipette, low-temperature desktop centrifuge, mortar and pestle, ice, and distilled water.
