Product description
Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH, EC 1.1.1.27) is an oxidoreductase that catalyzes the interconversion of pyruvate and lactate, widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. LDH is often measured to assess tissue or cell damage. This assay kit provides a rapid and sensitive detection method: LDH catalyzes the reaction of lactate and NAD+ to produce pyruvate and NADH. The produced NADH reacts with a specific color-developing agent to produce a yellow substance with a maximum absorption peak at 450nm. By measuring the increase rate of this yellow substance at 450nm, the activity of LDH can be calculated.
