Product description
H2S is considered the third gas signaling molecule within cells, participating in various physiological processes such as plant growth and development, enhancement of biotic and abiotic stress resistance, and delay of plant senescence. In animals, it regulates the nervous system and can also relax vascular smooth muscle, lowering blood pressure. Under strong acidic conditions with Fe+3 (as an oxidizing agent), hydrogen sulfide reacts with N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine to form blue-colored methylene blue, which has a maximum absorption peak at 667nm. The content of H2S in plant tissues can be calculated based on the amount of methylene blue formed.
