Product description
Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) exists in both cytosolic and mitochondrial forms. Cytosolic GAPDH (EC 1.2.1.12) is one of the central enzymes in glycolysis, specifically using NADH as a coenzyme, catalyzing the reversible reaction of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate. It is closely related to gluconeogenesis, the maintenance of blood glucose levels, the occurrence of diabetes, and plays an important role in diseases associated with metabolic disorders of sugar, fat, and protein in the body. This assay kit couples with 3-phosphoglycerate kinase, using 3-phosphoglycerate as a substrate, and measures the decrease in NADH at 340nm to determine the activity of NADH-GAPDH.
