Product description
Glutamic acid is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It is not only one of the 20 amino acids that make up proteins but also a key molecule in cellular metabolism. In addition, glutamic acid is the most abundant fast excitatory neurotransmitter in the mammalian nervous system and is found in various foods, where it is used as a flavor enhancer in the food industry. This kit provides a rapid and sensitive method for detecting glutamic acid. By using glutamate dehydrogenase to specifically act on glutamic acid, the resulting substance reacts with a color developer to form a yellow substance with a maximum absorption peak at 450nm, thereby determining the content of glutamic acid.
