Product description
Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate kinase (PFK, EC 2.7.1.11) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells, and is one of the key enzymes in the glycolytic process. PFK catalyzes the reaction of fructose-6-phosphate and ATP to produce fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and ADP. Pyruvate kinase and lactate dehydrogenase further catalyze the oxidation of NADH to NAD+. By measuring the decrease in NADH at 340nm, the activity of PFK can be reflected.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
Microplate reader, 96-well plate, water bath, desktop centrifuge, pipette, mortar and pestle, ice, and distilled water.
