Product description
Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphate Aldolase, FBA) is an important enzyme in the Calvin cycle, and is one of the key enzymes controlling the rate of photosynthesis. There are two isoforms of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase with some homology in structure in plants, namely chloroplastic and cytosolic types. FBA can catalyze fructose-1,6-bisphosphate to produce glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Under the subsequent action of enzyme complexes, it catalyzes NADH and dihydroxyacetone phosphate to produce NAD and α-glycerophosphate. By detecting the decrease rate of NADH at 340 nm, the activity of FBA can be determined.
