Product description
Dehydrogenases (DHA) are a class of enzymes that catalyze the oxidation-reduction reactions of substances. Traditional methods use triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) as a hydrogen acceptor for dehydrogenases, but the resulting colored substance, formazan, is insoluble in water, making the operation troublesome and the sensitivity low. This kit provides a simple, sensitive, and rapid method using a modified nitro-tetrazolium salt as a hydrogen acceptor. The resulting orange-yellow formazan substance is soluble in water, and the absorbance at 460nm is measured to determine dehydrogenase activity.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
Spectrophotometer, 1mL glass cuvette (light path must be 1cm), balance, constant temperature incubator or water bath, pipette, low-temperature centrifuge, ice, distilled water
