The determination of nicotinamide nucleotides has always been a research focus in terms of energy transformation and redox status in cells or tissues. NAD+ is the main hydrogen acceptor in glycolysis (EMP) and the citric acid cycle (TCA). The NAD+/NADH ratio can not only be used to evaluate the strength of glycolysis and the TCA cycle but also plays an important regulatory role in the synthesis of biomolecules and antioxidant metabolism. This assay kit provides a convenient and rapid detection method, offering specific extraction liquid to extract NAD+ and NADH from samples. NADH reacts with a highly sensitive colorimetric reagent to form a yellow water-soluble azine under the action of a hydrogen donor, which is detected at 450nm to obtain the NADH content. NAD+ content is detected by specifically reducing NAD+ to NADH using alcohol dehydrogenase.
