Product description
β-Glucuronidase (β-GUS, EC 3.2.1.31) is a widely distributed hydrolase enzyme found in animals and microorganisms; however, it is not present in most plant cells and many bacteria and fungi, making the GUS gene widely used as a reporter gene in transgenic plants, bacteria, and fungi. β-Glucuronidase (β-GUS) hydrolyzes p-nitrophenyl-D-glucuronide to produce p-nitrophenol (PNP), and the increase rate at 405nm can be used to determine the β-GUS enzyme activity.
