Product description
β-Galactosidase (β-GAL, EC 3.2.1.23), also known as β-D-galactosidase galactosyl transferase, or simply lactase, is an enzyme that specifically acts on β-D-galactoside compounds and is widely used in biochemistry, medicine, and food industries. This kit provides a simple, sensitive, and rapid determination method. β-GAL breaks down p-nitrophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside to produce p-nitrophenol, which has a maximum absorption peak at 405nm. The increase in absorbance rate is used to calculate β-GAL activity.
