Lipid peroxidation has the effect of destroying biological membranes, leading to cell destruction and body damage. The TBA method is used to determine the malondialdehyde produced by the exogenous lipid peroxidation system, which ultimately forms a colored product with a characteristic absorption peak at 535nm. When an anti-lipid peroxidation substance (LPO) is added, it can inhibit the production of malondialdehyde in the exogenous lipid peroxidation system, thereby reducing the light absorption at 535nm. The ability of the anti-lipid peroxidation substance, that is, the inhibition of lipid peroxidation (LPO) ability, can be evaluated by measuring the A535 value.
