Product description
Aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH, EC 1.2.1.10) is a type of aldehyde dehydrogenase, widely present in various animals, plants, and microorganisms. Its main function is to oxidize acetaldehyde to acetic acid, playing a primary role in alcohol metabolism. This company provides a simple, rapid, and reliable method for quantifying ALDH enzyme activity. In this assay, acetaldehyde is oxidized by ALDH to produce NADH, which then reduces a colorless probe to a colored product with strong absorbance at 450nm, allowing for the determination of ALDH enzyme activity.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
Microplate reader, 96-well plate, pipette, mortar and pestle, balance, centrifuge, distilled water.
