Product description
Alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH, EC 1.1.1.1) is found in many organisms, capable of breaking down toxic alcohols in humans and many other animals; in yeast and many bacteria, some alcohol dehydrogenases catalyze the reverse reaction as part of fermentation. This kit utilizes ADH to catalyze the reaction of acetaldehyde and NADH to produce ethanol and NAD+. By detecting the decrease rate of NADH at 340nm, the activity of ADH can be calculated.
