Product description
Acetylcholinesterase (AChE, EC 3.1.1.7) is a key enzyme in ensuring the normal transmission of nerve signals in organisms and plays an important role in the regulation of neural conduction. Acetylcholinesterase catalyzes the hydrolysis of acetylcholine (ACh) to produce choline, which reacts with dithiobisnitrobenzoic acid (DTNB) to form 5-thio-2-nitrobenzoic acid (TNB). TNB has an absorption peak at 412nm, and by measuring the increase in absorbance at 412nm, the activity of AChE can be determined.
