Product description
Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC, EC 6.4.1.2) is widely present in the biological world. It catalyzes the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to form malonyl-CoA in organisms, which is a key enzyme in the synthesis of fatty acids and many secondary metabolic products. The activity of ACC determines the speed of fatty acid synthesis and the level of oil content to a certain extent. ACC catalyzes the generation of malonyl-CoA, ADP, and inorganic phosphorus from acetyl-CoA, NaHCO3, and ATP. The increase in inorganic phosphorus is measured by the ammonium molybdate phosphorus determination method to determine the activity of ACC.
Additional Materials and Equipments Required
Microplate reader, 96-well plate, desktop centrifuge, pipette, mortar, ice, and distilled water.
