Product description
ABTS is a mediator substance that, when reacted with K2S2O8, directly generates a stable cation radical ABTS+. Antioxidant substances react with ABTS+, causing the reaction system to fade. The maximum absorption wavelength of the ABTS+· radical cation is 734nm, so A734nm can be used to detect the concentration of ABTS+· radical cations. If A734nm decreases, it indicates that ABTS+· radical cations have been scavenged, allowing for the quantitative analysis of the ABTS scavenging ability in the sample.
