α-Ketoglutarate (α-KG) is an important substance in the citric acid cycle, connecting cellular carbon-nitrogen metabolism. It is not only directly involved in the organism's oxidative energy supply but also participates in the chemical synthesis of various substances in the body. This assay kit provides a rapid and sensitive method for detecting α-ketoglutarate by converting it to glutamate using glutamate-pyruvate transaminase, further detecting glutamate content through glutamate dehydrogenase, and generating a yellow substance at 450nm by the reaction of NADH with a colorimetric reagent.
