Product description
4-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) is widely distributed in animals and plants. In animals, GABA is almost exclusively found in neural tissues. In plants, such as in the seeds, roots, and tissue fluids of legumes, ginseng, and traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, GABA is present and is related to plant stress responses to the environment. 4-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) reacts with hypochlorite and phenol in an alkaline solution to form a blue-green substance, and by detecting the value of this colored substance at 645nm, the content of GABA in the sample can be determined.
